How to move a font in 10 steps

The font of Clodock Church moves from out of darkness into wonderful light

This is where it was
This is where it is going
1 Carefully remove the headstones off the plinth
2 Less carefully remove most of the rest of the plinth
3 Erect a gantry over the font
4 Raise the font and put it on a trolley
5 Delicately manoeuvre the font down the aisle
6 Waylay a couple of parishioners to give a hand when the font proves too heavy
7 Re-erect the gantry over the place where the font is going
8 Put the font into its new position
9 Put mortar around the font to make it level
10 Put some flowers on top
