Lent, Holy Week and Easter 2018

Lent Course: the beginning of the Gospel according to St John

Following on from our reading of the whole of John’s Gospel for our Book Club, I thought it might be helpful to look in detail at the very opening of that Gospel: this will include references to John’s account of the Passion Week.

These session will be on Wednesday evenings at 7.30 at my house, Forest Mill, Craswall. Anybody will be most welcome, and there is no need to feel that you have attend all sessions.

You might find it useful to have a look at the relevant passage before each meeting.

They will be:

February 21st John 1: 1 - 14 In the beginning

February 28th John 1: 15 - 28 John bare witness of him

March 7th John 1: 29 - 34 Behold the Lamb of God

March 14th John 1: 35 - 51 Can anything good come out of Nazareth?

March 21st John 2: 1 - 11 They have no wine

Holy Week

Palm Sunday March 25th

6.30pm Michaelchurch Church: A Service for Holy Week

Monday to Wednesday in Holy Week

7.30pm Meditation & Compline in Craswall, Llanveynoe and Clodock Churches

Maundy Thursday March 29th

7.30pm A Celebration of the Last Supper. As in previous years, we commemorate the Last Supper and the Institution of Holy Communion. This will take place in Craswall Church. We will ask for donations of £10, but please let me know if you would find that difficult. Please in any case let me know if you would like to attend, for catering purposes.

Good Friday March 30th

9.30am Family Service in Clodock Church

11.00am A Service of devotions for Good Friday at Newton Church


Easter Day April 1st

6.00am Gather at the Black Hill Car Park ready to climb for

6.45am Dawn Eucharist

9.30am St Margaret’s Family Service

11.00am Clodock Holy Communion
